Students will be paired up and placed in a Canadian home to experience life in a Canadian family. During their stay, students will be part of their homestay family and will take part in family outings, functions and participate in general family traditions.
Everything students will need during their time at Westcoast Experience, away from home, will be provided by their homestay family. Regular phone calls are arranged to keep students in contact with their parents upon their arrival to Vancouver.
Westcoast's long-term homestay program allows for a comfortable family atmosphere with ample opportunity to participate in a truly Canadian experience. Students are able to practice their spoken English daily, improving their speaking, listening and their comprehension skills more quickly. Students will be included in all family activities, functions and traditions during their enrollment in the Westcoast Experience homestay program.

During Westcoast Experience's short-term programs, Canadian students from the different schools and homestay families are enrolled in the program. The Canadian students are involved in the morning class sessions as well as the different afternoon and all day activities.
The Canadian students help the International students with the class material and promote further English conversation. Their main purpose of their involvement with Westcoast's programs is for them to interact and build new relationships with the visiting International students.
Additional charges apply for medical coverage for students registered in one of Westcoast's short-term programs. Our medical coverage provides students with $1,000,000 CDN of medical coverage for a fee of $7/day. This fee is charged in addition to the program registration fee.
